Hi everyone,

We would like to introduce you to the Club with a friendly WELCOME LETTER WITH PARENTAL ADVICE for the forthcoming season at Bearsted and Thurnham Bowling Club as well as information on:

CLUB MEMBERSHIP : The Club’s annual membership runs from 1 October to 31 September each year and if you are an existing member from last year and you have not yet renewed, please could you do so as soon as possible and no later the end of February. We have attached a Renewal Application which must be returned with the appropriate monies direct to the Treasurer – details on form. If you have already renewed, please disregard this request and accept our thanks.

If you are a prospective new member we have attached a Membership application form which asks £5 for junior membership to the Club which must be completed and returned to the Treasurer without any monies. Once your membership has been confirmed by the committee you will be contacted for payment by the committee. Please could you do this by the beginning of March in readiness for it to be accepted before the Junior Section commences. The attached application form has been signed by us both as ‘playing members’ but if you have difficulty in printing it off, please contact us and we will let you have a hard copy of this or any other paperwork mentioned in this communication.

PARENT CONSENT FORM :  Jean has recently been appointed as the Club’s Child Protection Officer and part of her responsibilities is to ensure that a Parent Consent Form is completed annually for every Junior at the Club. Please therefore ensure you complete the attached form paying particular attention to the ‘ever changing’ email address/mobile numbers as they will be used as the Coaches and Club’s preferred method of contact with you and return it to Jean by email or print it off ready to bring it  to the first coaching session on the 11 May.

JUNIOR COMPETITION ENTRY FORM : This gives details of all the Junior Competitions which cost £2 each to enter although all other coaching sessions are FREE :

Junior Handicap Singles; Generation Australian Pairs where the junior invites an adult to play with them (partners can be found if necessary); 2 Wood Junior/Adult Mixed Triples where a junior is selected to play with 2 adults; Junior Singles; and Junior 100 Up. Dates and details are shown which are designed to try and avoid school holiday dates (as much as possible when parents and children often take a holiday) to encourage as much junior participation as possible; also being mindful that dates are chosen to fit in with the Club’s own busy schedule. Please return this Junior Competition Entry form to us with the appropriate fees – either by hand or post - no later than 11 May to enable us to meet the tight fixture schedule. When completing the junior competition entry form, the Club committee asks that you are available to play during Finals weekend on 7/8 September along with all other competition finalists.
